NV Energy Charging for outdoor recreation in Vegas and Reno
By Scott Bradford · January 27, 2023

NV Energy is building charging sites for Clean Electric Vehicle Recreation at two iconic spots: Red Rock Canyon park outside Las Vegas, Nevada, and Lake Tahoe outside Reno, Nevada.
The site at Redrock will allow charging for electric cars and an Electric bike charging area, while the location in Lake Tahoe will allow charging cars and Boats.

This is great news for clean electric vehicle recreation, as having the ability to charge at a place of entertainment increases the feasibility of riding an e-bike (or scooter, skateboard, or EUC) or operating an electric boat on the lake. Moreover, the improvement in air quality is particularly appealing to being at these beautiful natural outdoor recreation destinations.
This is being done as a part of ERTEP, which stands for NV Energy's Economic Recovery Transportation Electrification Plan (ERTEP) and is designed to advance economic recovery and accelerate transportation electrification.
